However, what Joe and Love didn’t anticipate was for Gil to be overwhelmed by the news that his son had assaulted someone again and that his actions in covering up his son’s first assault led to another woman being attacked. In doing so, Joe discovers that Gil’s son sexually assaulted someone and proceeds to tell his findings to Gil in an effort to enact their plan. Hoping to avoid having to kill again, Joe and Love do some digging into Gil’s past in hopes of finding a secret they can then leverage to keep him from going to the authorities to turn him in for, you know, nearly killing him and then holding him captive. She bashes Gil over the head with a rolling pin and then puts him in the cage in her bakery’s basement.
